[2000] Hyo Shin's debut

Park Hyo Shin debuted on Nov. 4th 1999 on a open radio concert outdoor. During 2007 interview, he said that during the first song, he was so nervous that he was breathing in and out really hard, and there was a bug that came right into his mouth. But since he was a new singer and all, he couldn't say "I'm sorry, let do that again" while singing, so he said he swallowed the bug and continued his singing. He said to this day he can't forget that incident. ^^;;

Hyo Shin's first TV performance was on KBS "Lee So Ra's Propose," which was very popular live stage for talented singers. Before his debut, he sang a duet with Lee So Ra on her 4th album. She hand picked based on his singing talent, but while recording they didn't really get to know each other... that was until he appeared on her show!!

Park Hyo Shin, who was only 18 year olds at the time (20 yrs in Korean age), came onto the stage, and just took every one's breathes away. His first song was Whitney Houston's "Run To You."




His voice was very deep unlike his appearance, a shy high school senior. When Ms. Lee So Ra interviewed this new kid on the block, he was so shy, he just stares at the floor. (cute!!) Then he sings his first single, "This Thing I Cannot Do" (해줄 수 없는 일). The song became a big hit.



After the first appearance on Lee So Ra's Propose, many people requested him to be on the show again, so he came back 4-5 times to sing during year 2000. The videos are still available to view on KBS home page, however the quality is really bad, so can't really make out much.



1 months after his first performance, he came on to sing again on The Propose with Dave Koz.





May 26, 2000. His 3rd appearance on Lee So Ra's Propose, and here he came on with fellow singer, "Jin Joo" (Pearl in korean). They were playing the leads on Rock Hamlet (musical) that year. Hyo Shin explains what the situation is before he sings this number. He said that Orphilia (sp?) dies and Hamlet's very regretful of her death and that he could have loved her more, etc.

1 year after his debut performance, he came on again and chatted at ease with Lee So Ra. He joked that after viewing the tapes of him on the Propose, he can see his hair style changing as well as how he became at ease at talking in front of the camera.



Near the end of Lee So Ra's Propose season, Hyo Shin comes back with another good kpop singer, Sung Si Kyung, who is 2 years older than him, so Hyo Shin calls him hyung (older brother). Their voices are so different yet sounds great together. They performed many shows and concerts together.
